Arathi Gowda is a team leader for SOM’s Performance group, charged with researching new technologies and recommending integrated environmental design solutions for project teams worldwide. At SOM she works to integrate performance at the project and portfolio scale, reviewing SOM’s progress towards internal and external commitments to efficiency and carbon reduction.
As an educator Arathi is committed to training the next generation of practitioners. She has taught at several universities including the Illinois Institute of Technology, Northwestern University, and Roosevelt University. Her coursework is focused on urban development and environmental impact. Trained as an architect, with Architecture and Planning Registrations, she champions the environment at multiple scales, from infrastructure to the embodied carbon of building materials.
